1. What is SSB Interview?


SSB interview is conducted by Services Selection Board for the recruitment of officers. SSB interview is a five days process which includes two stages of testing. Only, when a candidate clears Stage I testing goes for Stage-Il testing.


The aim of five-day testing is to assess personality of candidates by three pronged approach Manasa, Vacha & Karmna, Translating into your thoughts, speech and deed/actions. These three approaches are termed as techniques and they are assessed by Psychologist, Interviewing Officer and Group Testing Officer independently. The summation of three approaches in conference gives inputs for identifying a potential and a trainable Armed Forces leaders.

2. What is MANSA , KARMANA VAACHA ? 


Manasa, Vaacha, Karmana are three Sanskrit words. The word manasa refers to the mind, vaachaa refers to speech, and karmanaa refers to actions. In several Indian languages, these three words are together used to describe a state of consistency expected of an individual. The motto Manasa, Vaacha, Karmana is usually invoked to imply that one should strive to achieve the state where one's thoughts, speech and the actions coincide.

3. Different Stages & Days of SSB


🔰 Stage I (Screening Process) 


The stage 1 testing process consists ofBAssessment of Officer's Intelligence Rating (OIR) Tests made by PPDT- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (DAY 1) 

If you pass the screening test then only you are allowed to stay there for rest days otherwise you are sent back to home


🔰 Stage II (Personality Testing) 


The personality test consists of three separate tests :-


👉 (A) The Psychological Testing (Day 2)


★ TAT - Thematic Apperception Test

★ WAT - Word Association Test

★ SRT - Situation Reaction Test

★ SDT - Self-Description Test


👉 (B) Group Testing (Day 3 and 4)


★ Group Discussions On 2 different topics

★ Group Planning Exercise (1 Map for group planning and discussion) ★ Progressive Group Task

Group Obstacle Race AKA Snake Race

★ Half Group Task

★ Lecturette

★ Individual Obstacles

★ Command Task

★ Final Group Task


The Personal Interview is carried out by an Interviewing Officer based on the availability of the aspirant.


👉 (C) Final Conference (Day 5)


A final conference is held between all the three assessors including other assessors who have been accessing and analyzing the aspirants for the last few days and each aspirant is discussed. Based on the assessment of all the three assessors the aspirant is termed to be recommended.
